Temporomandibular Joint Problems
The Tempromandibular Joint or TMJ, is the joint that connects your jaw to your skull and can be felt on the side of your face just below your cheekbone. Because the TMJ is used so much, it can develop muscular problems or even arthritis, which can result in facial pain, headaches and pain when chewing or speaking. There can be many reasons why you may experience TMJ pain, including teeth grinding, misaligned teeth and even excessive gum chewing or nail biting! A consultation with your JHA dentist will ensure you the best possible advice and treatment on any problems you may experience.
