Susan Heselton
BDS MSc MFDS RCS MGDS RCPS
Susan qualified from Edinburgh University in 1990. In 1991, she joined the Royal Army Dental Corps as a Dental Officer. From 1998 to 1999, she studied and was awarded the Degree of Master of Science in Periodontology at the Eastman Dental Institute. Since 1999, she has been a Regional Periodontal Adviser providing periodontal treatment for referred patients, auditing hygienists and lecturing on the management of periodontal disease.
In 2000 Susan gained the Diploma of Member of the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and Membership in General Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 2002.
In 2008, she left the Army to work in private practice and pursue an interest in periodontics. She is currently studying for the FGDP (UK) Diploma in Implant Dentistry.
Susan is a member of the British Society of Periodontology.
Dr John Edward
Dr John Edward graduated from the University of Bristol in 2003. In 2006 John then went on to complete the MFDS at the Royal College of Surgeons in London.
John spent the first few years of his professional career working in general practice in Swanage, Dorset before joining the team at Southampton General Hospital as a senior house officer in the maxillo-facial department. John joined the team at Shaftesbury Dental Practice in 2006.
Over the years John has developed a strong professional interest in Endodontics and has undertaken many continued professional development courses to further his skills in this field. John is now a member of the British Endodontic Society and has been accepting referrals for Endodontic treatments from dentists in the local area for the past 2 years.
Johns future plans include entering into the field of dental implantology and he hopes to study the Implant Diploma at Bristol University within the next few years.
Magda Owen
Magda Owen graduated as a Doctor of Dental Medicine from the Medical University of Lodz, Poland in 1998. She then went on to work at the University and within private practice until 2005 when she relocated to the UK.
Magda has spent the past 5 years working in private practice in England and in 2007 she started studying at the University of London, Kings College Dental Institute for the MClin Dent in Prosthodontics, she is now completing the final year of this programme. Upon completion of this qualification Magda will then embark on the path to achieving entry onto the Specialist register for Prosthodontics.
Magda enjoys all aspects of Prosthetic Dentistry particularly construction of complex denture work and she is happy to receive referrals on this basis.
Magda is a member of the British Dental Bleaching Society (BDBS), British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (BACD) and the British Society for the studying of Prosthetic Dentistry (BSSPD).
