Dr Stephen Davies
Specialist Restorative BDS MDSc DGDP (uk) GDC No. 45530
Stephen Davies qualified in 1971 at Manchester University. He set up the High Lane practice in 1974.
He was awarded his MDSc in 1994 for his thesis: "An investigation into the pattern of splint wear in the management of temporomandibular disorders” and was awarded the Alan Hilton Memorial Medal for Research from the Manchester Medical Society for this work.
In total Stephen has published over 50 scientific journals; he was co-author of “Temporomandibular Disorders: A clinical approach” BDJ Publications 1995 and principal author of “A Clinical Guide to Occlusion” BDJ Publications 2002.
He is a past Director of the North West Division of Faculty of General Dental Practitioners. In 1986, he joined the Temporomandibular Disorder clinic at the Manchester Dental School having previously studied Temporomandibular Disorder and Occlusion in the UK and USA. He has been the Lead Clinician of this clinic, since January 2001.
He also teaches at Manchester University and for the FGDP at the Royal College of Surgeons, London. He has for many years accepted referrals for patients with temporomandibular or occlusal difficulty.
Stephen is registered with the General Dental Council as a ‘Specialist in Restorative Dentistry’. This deals with the restoration of diseased, injured, or abnormal teeth to normal function. This includes all aspects of root canal treatment, gums and bone support, crowns and bridges, and the restoration of implants.

Dr Lasse Petersen
DDS(DK) GDC No. 58202
Lasse qualified in Copenhagen in 1982, and completed his vocational training as a lieutenant dental surgeon with the Royal Danish Navy.
He joined High Lane Dental Practice in 1984. For five years he was the post-graduate dental tutor for Stockport. He is currently working as a clinical assistant in the orthodontic department at Stepping Hill Hospital.
Lasse enjoys all aspects of dentistry and has a special interest in orthodontics for both children and adults. He has trained to carry out orthodontic treatment with both conventional removable and fixed braces as well as Invisalign® where appropriate.

Dr Helen Chapman
BChD MSGDP (UK) GDC No. 73257
Helen qualified in 1997 from Lees University. She did her vocational training year in Stockport and joined High Lane Dental Practice in 2001 as an associate. During her time at High Lane she also became a vocational trainer for newly qualified dentists.
In 2002 she gained her Diploma in General Dental Practice (MFGDP). Helen has attended postgraduate courses on mini implants and oral surgery. She also spent twelve months teaching undergraduate students at Manchester Dental Hospital in oral surgery and restorative dentistry.
Helen has a qualification in conscious sedation and is able to provide intravenous sedation for anxious patients.

Dr Alaa Al-Saeed
BDS GDC No. 104388
Alaa qualified in 1997 from Badghdad University, and practised for two years there. He prepared for the international qualifying exam as set by the General Dental Council; he was successful in this rigorous examination in 2006. At the request of the post-graduate Dental Dean in the North West, he started to work at High Lane Dental Practice in 2006 in order to work towards his clinical competencies with Mr Stephen Davies as his tutor. This is equivalent to the post qualification practice based training that every UK qualified dentist has to undertake.
He has since enrolled in a restorative dentistry course run by the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners at the Royal College of Surgeons (ENG).
He enjoys and practices all aspects of general dentistry, with a particular interest in endodontics.

Dr Surita Choudhury
BDS GDC No. 81859
Surita qualified from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 2003. After working in the North-East as a General Dental Practitioner, Surita moved to Cheshire to be with her now husband, Russell.
Surita joined High Lane Dental Practice in 2010 as an associate. She is interested in all aspects of dental care with a special interest in treating dental phobic patients, having furthered her qualifications with a core course in Dental Sedation. Surita is committed to continuing professional development attending post-graduate courses on a wide variety of subjects.
Outside of work, Surita is a busy mother to her young son, Zakariah. Her interests outside dentistry include charity work, cooking and travelling.

Dr Richard Brookshaw

Richard Brookshaw qualified as a Dentist in 1996 from the University of Dundee. In 1999 he gained his Masters degree in Oral Surgery from the University of Sheffield, and further extended his clinical qualification in 2001 by completing an 18 month Implant Training Programme, also at the University of Sheffield, where he was actively involved in the joint development programme that is run between UK and Chieti, Italy.
Richard was based initially in Leicester for his VDP year and worked there as a Clinical Assistant in Oral Surgery at Leicester Royal Infirmary. From 1997 to 1999 Richard worked as a Senior House Officer in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department at Sheffield University, Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Northern General Hospital and Sheffield Children’s Hospital as well as treating referral oral surgery patients in part-time practice in Doncaster. In 2000 Richard extended his clinical practice, accepting further referrals for oral surgery and dental implants.
Richard is both nationally and internationally respected as a Lecturer and Mentor in Implant Dentistry, Immediate same day implants (Same Day Smiles) and Nobelguide/CT scan guided surgery. He also lectures for Nobel Biocare on a range of advanced implant techniques. He is a regular lecturer and contributor to their world tour. Richard is also an honorary teaching fellow for the Manchester University MSc in Dental Implantology.
Richard exclusively practices all aspects of implant dentistry, including hard and soft tissue augmentation, sinus grafting and teeth in an hour.
Richard has lectured nationally and internationally since 2003 on the surgical and restorative aspects of implant dentistry, where he offers more formal training on his year long implant programme through his education company, the centre for advanced dental education (CADE). He was the keynote speaker at the Clinical Innovations Conference held in London in May 2008 and has undertaken further training in Holland, Germany, USA, France, Spain, Austria, Switzerland, Greece, Italy, Croatia and Belgium.
In 2009, he was one of the first five Implant Dentists in the country to be awarded the Diploma in Implant Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (Dip Imp Dent RCS Ed).
He loves to travel, enjoying the opportunity to network and socialise with a wide group of Dentists from many different countries. In his spare time, when not enjoying time with his young family, Richard enjoys most forms of sports, particularly golf, football, cricket and cycling.

Ruth Greensmith

Ruth qualified in 1986, from Liverpool Dental Hospital School of Dental Hygiene. She spent many years working in the community and hospital services treating children and patients with special needs, and now works in private dental practices throughout the North West.
Ruth joined the High Lane Practice in 2009 and is totally committed to giving patients the best possible care and help in achieving maximum oral care. She is particularly interested in the more challenging cases and very passionate about achieving the best results possible.

Sharon Hughes

Sharon joined the practice in 2010 as an hygienist. She has a vast amount of experience in the dental industry having trained at the Manchester Dental Hospital at the age of 18 as a Dental Surgery Assistant.
In 1991, she qualified as a Dental Hygienist. She enjoys building a rapport with her patients and assisting them to maintain their oral health with a programme at home and she believes that prevention is the key to a healthy smile.
Sharon attends many courses, lectures and tutorials to ensure she is up to date on the latest techniques and information.
