Restorations, Lumineers, Cosmetic Dentistry
I qualified in Dentistry from the University of Sheffield in 1978 and then completed a one year multidisciplinary House Officer post. In 1979 I was offered the opportunity to work as a General Dental Practitioner and it was during this time that I was invited to become involved in the undergraduate teaching of dental students in Oral Surgery at The Charles Clifford Dental Hospital in Sheffield.
I worked as a General Dental Practitioner in practices located in the Sheffield and Manchester until 1983, when we set up our own dental practice in Timperley. The practice grew rapidly to its present size.
In October 1995 I completed a one year course in advanced cosmetic and restorative techniques followed by implant restoration course. In the same year, the practice became fully private in order to provide the highest standards of dental care and offer patients the advanced techniques that are available.
In 1997 I was awarded by examination the Diploma in General Dental Practice from the Royal College of Surgeons of England I have a keen interest in the treatment of anxious patients using Intravenous Sedation techniques and have completed several post graduate courses in Dental Sedation. I am a life member of SAAD (The Society for the Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry) and now have over 30 years experience in treating anxious patients of all ages with various sedation techniques. Helping patients overcome their fear of dentistry is a part of dentistry I find most rewarding.
I am interested in all aspects of dental care with a special interest in cosmetic dentistry,
sedation and preventative techniques. I was the first dentist in the area to offer Cerec; same day CAD/CAM restorations and have over eight years experience in this technique. More recently I have completed the Lumineers course and accept referrals from Manchester, Cheshire and Merseyside.
I am married to Brenda with one daughter. Outside dentistry I enjoy walking and gardening, sports and travel.

I have been practicing dentistry since 1969, after graduating from Birmingham and Glasgow Universities. I have spent my entire career to date in general practice. I established the Ladybarn Dental Practice in Fallowfield in 1977 which I ran for the next 30 years, eventually selling it in 2007. I believe that individual and attentive care is of the utmost importance, which is
Why I am so pleased to have been asked to join this practice in Timperley Which prides itself on being at the forefront of technology,
I regularly attend post-graduate courses both here in the United Kingdom and Europe so that I can keep myself up to date with current ‘best practice’. Because of this I am fully aware of the latest treatment available, and I am delighted with the equipment that is available for me here. I have a special interest in cosmetic dentistry and also implantology (for replacing missing teeth or for securing loose dentures).
Every effort will be made to make your dental experience an enjoyable one: from gentle relaxing music for your listening pleasure to sedation if required. I offer a full range of general dental care to suit my patients’ individual needs. I am a good listener!
On a personal note, I am married to Lynne who is a textile artist. We have 4children between us. As relaxation I enjoy cycling, from gentle Sunday morning outings to major challenges. These challenging rides have been in Cuba and Israel and were to raise money for various charities. I have also cycled the coast-to-coast route from Whitehaven, across the Lakes finishing in Newcastle. I play bridge, am re-learning to play the piano and enjoy developing my computer skills and photography and film making. Together with my wife we do voluntary charity work. I also offer my dental services to various charities overseas most recently working with poor Arab and Jewish children in Israel.
I very much look forward to meeting you in the practice and to continue to offerthe excellent dental care to which you have become accustomed.

Carole Collins (hygienist)
I qualified in Manchester some 22 yrs ago, having won the Dentsply hygienist best practical exam. I have worked both in the hospital environment as well as in private practice.
After qualifying I held a part time position in researching electric toothbrushes with one of the leading companies.
I am passionate about my job, and nothing phases me. I love to treat the nervous patient and help them to conquer their fear of visiting the dentist.
I spend many extra curricula hours on keeping up to date with all new information.
I am an advisor for an indemnity organisation on an ad hoc basis and have been for at least 7 yrs. This is a very interesting and fulfilling role. Before joining the James Hull Group I worked for 16 yrs (part time) in the same private practice.
Since joining the James Hull Group now well over a year ago,I must say it has been a pleasure to work with the team, together with meeting and getting to know the patients.
