Peter Gascoigne

Peter Gascoigne is a Registered Specialist Orthodontist.

Peter graduated in dentistry in New Zealand and came by scholarship to London to pursue postgraduate studies.

After completing the orthodontic course at the Eastman Dental Hospital Peter entered specialist practice firstly as an associate and later as a multiple practice owner.

In 1986 Peter began his specialist referral practice in Wimpole Street providing an emphasis on adult treatment, itself then relatively rare.

An early involvement with lingual fixed orthodontic treatment techniques and with training abroad from innovative clinicians in Japan, Europe and the States means Peter is one of the most experienced specialist practitioners with this appliance in the country.

Peter is also a keen advocate of the Damon system of fixed braces for children and adults and for many years has used the fixed Herbst alternative to the more commonplace removable forms of functional or jaw correcting appliance.

For adult surgical cases Peter works with local consultant surgeons in the management of these complex treatments.

Peter now works with other specialists in Lister House in Wimpole Street and was joined in 2008 by his colleague Dr Alastair Smith.
