Dr. Mike Hodgson practice was Acquired by James Hull Associates in 2003

I was one of three partners in a private practice established some 110 years ago. I joined the practice twenty years ago and was accepted on the Prosthodontics specialist list in 2000. Out of the blue we were approached by Dr James Hull in the spring of 2003 as he was looking to buy a specialist referral practice in the East Midlands, and after a relatively short and painless period of discussions and investigation, the acquisition of our practice by the group took place in September 2003.

Since that time we have enjoyed a good working relationship with the company allowing me to practice the dentistry and them to take over the management and day to day running of the practice. We have seen our turnover increase dramatically, and with it our income, and have never once looked back on our decision to sell to the company.

Although when we sold to the group the building was in a very good state of repair and equipped with high quality equipment the level of investment has continued and we are shortly to have installed an ICAT CT scanner along with digital radiography for the rest of the practice, which proves their level of commitment to reinvestment within the business.

In summary we have been delighted with our decision to sell our valuable asset to the James Hull Group, and can vouch for the professionalism with which they run the business.

Dr. Steve Sharma joined James Hull Associates in 2007

I started work with J D Hull Associates in March 07, but as you may know I have known James for 20 years. Over this time our paths have crossed and I have no doubt he was watching my professional progress as I was certainly watching Dr Hull.

There isn't one factor, which has prompted me to write, but the summation of several which has allowed me to provide the highest quality of dental care in a relaxed, organised, productive, atmosphere.

Having successfully run my own practice for 20 years you realise that its the lack of some things that you notice, lack of hassle from staff, lack of hassle with patient management, lack of materials because you are at your overdraft limit, we all know and feel these pressures. Now I certainly notice that they have been removed from my working day, allowing me the clinical freedom to develop what I am really good at, and that's dealing with patients and creating/ completing beautiful smiles.....

This is not a chance thing, a lucky event, its the result of many years of dedication, belief, hard work and commitment to see a project through, the team at J D Hull Associates are instrumental in creating this for me, and anyone else who wants to participate....

Inthe first few months of my residential Maxillo-Facial Surgery SHO jobin South Wales, I picked up the Yellow Pages and called every localdental practice, looking for a part-time Saturday/evening job doingGeneral Dentistry. For whatever reasons, everyone I called declined tooffer me a job. Then I made a call to a local GDP called James Hull; Helistened, and after a pregnant pause said, “I’ve always got a job forsomeone industrious like you”. That was in 1993, just after I’dqualified from Newcastle. I’m still here now, a few more qualificationsunder my belt, prosperous, and an integral part of the pioneering,James Hull Associates family.

In all this time, I’vepersonally found James to be very supportive, empathetic, and withtypical understated generosity, from offering me work whilst studyingat the Eastman, to assisting a cross-country move for the family, andeven through a tough period of personal crisis. The Group have alwaysmade opportunities available for me and I have successfully capitalizedon them. It has made each stage of my blossoming career possible andfinancially comfortable.

James chooses those who come onboard astutely and after much deliberation. We, the Surgeons within theGroup, have all done well and will continue to do so under hisvisionary leadership. For those of you who may have just joined us, ormay be thinking of joining us, I extend the hand of welcome to ourfamily and look forward to meeting you in person.

Dr. Neil Millington practice was Acquired by James Hull Associates in 2003

Asone of 3 partners in a long established specialist referral practice,with more than enough patients to keep us fully employed, the decisionto sell our business to James Hull was not taken easily. However wetook the plunge and the business was transferred to James Hull inOctober 2003. The process of the acquisition took place smoothly andquickly. We felt reassured that the company offered us a fair price forour business and that their motivation and interest was to furthernurture and grow our practice in partnership with us.

Lookingback now I (and also my previous business partners) have no regrets atall and are sure our decision to join the group was the right one. Wehave all been very happy within the James Hull organisation. Perhapsmore importantly my own salary has more than doubled and the turn overof the business as a whole has almost tripled in 4 years. Clearly thisdemonstrates the benefits of professional management of the business. Ireally appreciate that the hassle of tying to run a business has beentaken away so I can concentrate on what I enjoy and on what I amhopefully good at - my dentistry.

In the past wehad prided ourselves on the amount of reinvestment we had made to ourbusiness and were concerned that this would carry on within the JamesHull Group. Fortunately investment has continued to be made in ourpractice with newly refurbished surgeries and most recently an orderplaced for an ICAT CT scanner, which at over £100,000.00 demonstratesthe level of commitment from James Hull.
